Teenager with an S3

Post by gt_james »

Hi everyone, I'm still fairly new here. I'm James, I'm a 19yo apprentice, I live in Pershore, worcs.

Last November I bought my second car... an S3 RX7 FB. It had been off the road for a while, and last winter I got it on the road again, with a fair bit of help from my dad  I fetched it on a trailer from somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Lincoln  Have done about 1100 miles in it, and had great fun. Even managed 30 mpg with some feather footed motorway driving haha.

I was at retro rides and met a few of you on here 0-0

I don't know how to upload pictures yet (hp)

Hi James, was good to meet you at RR, car was looking good to.
The best way to get pics on here is to use a free image hosting site like photobucket.com
Upload a pic to the site then click on share links then copy and paste the img codes into your post.
Come on James, we need more pics of your car 0-0

To get it on the road the brakes needed freeing off and skimming and new pads. All new fluids, Painting and prettying some things here and there. Filters changed. Also I've had a bit of a nightmare with Ignition, replaced Ignitors and I need Ignition leeds I think. New plugs. Other jobs like interior light, rear wiper/squirter. Also welded/fibreglassed petrol tank and cleaned up the tank sender and soldered a better earth.

Jobs to do are wheel bearings, and Ignition leads, and Inlet 'O' rings could do with replacing and gearbox probably needs re building

Oh and no one stole a wheel nut, It had locking nuts, but I broke the crappy mild steel tool, so for a while I had to do without. I had a guy I know Machine/spark erode a stainless tool for me :D

Cool pics man. We needa get her to take some of both of ours at some point  . Bet you were glad when it started up on the morning of RRG

A bit of work then aye haha. Just wondering, but is fiberglassing the petrol tank safe? :?

Myself and I think a few others have NGK plug leads that can be bought from the US Amazon for pretty cheap. Think mine were about £18 after they gave me back some pre-paid tax they charged. Link here http://www.amazon.com/NGK-ZE97A-Premium ... =ngk+ze97a :D

With the intake manifold O-rings, I'd say throw in the core plugs in there instead when you have it off aye. I think I used 20mm plugs when I done mine th:
