Lovelly....

Wonder if they would do a larger stub axle to allow for the fitment of FC brakes?

Do Gaz manufacture the entire strut themselves, or do they need your original in order to cannibalise the stub axle plate and stuff from?

looks very impressive 8-)

Gaz build the strut from your strut tube.

You send them a stripped strut tube with the stub axle and they throw most of that away and insert a larger tube to your stub axle.

Springs can be what ever you want, mine are 300lbft on the front, but then I will be using the car for motorsport.

I'm sure that they would make struts using an FC stub axle, you might have to be a bit prescriptive about what you want, but they are very helpful. It's worth giving them a call if you are serious.

For me it was much easier than welding bits together, this is an important bit of kit that keeps all 4 wheels on the ground and I prefer the expertise that someone like Gaz can give you.

I'll let you know how well it all works when the car is finished !

As as long overdue update, I can confirm the adjustable Koni MR2 rear shock fitted the front struts fine. A good midprice solution for those who want a stiffer than stock shock and adjustability.

Interesting. Do you have the Koni part number? And are they externally adjustable or do they need to come off the car for that?

Dave, mine were part number 8641-1072SPORT - KONI (REAR YELLOW SPORTS Shock Absorbers). They are easily adjustable front the top of the strut tower. Actually any shocks that fit the same year MR2 should fit. My rear AGX shocks are easily adjustable from using a dial on the bottom of the shock.

I have a load of pics of the rear shocks but unfortunately didn't take any of the front inserts at the time they were being fitted because we were under a time pressure to finish and leave the self-service garage. :(

As a correction to my last post, I can't confirm that other manufacturers shocks will fit the same as the Konis did, there's a possibility they will but as I haven't done it myself I can't confirm.
