Its a CA18DET with stage one mods. nissan gearbox and custom prop.
Up front iv fitted Nissan s13 coilovers and modified lower arms to fit mazda subframe then nissan knuckles, hubs and brakes too (handily the same 4x 114.3)
kept the mazda steering box and utilized the oem tension rods. removed ARB
OEM setup at the rear, same 4 linked axle as on an fb i think, pretty sure the old front setup was also the same. snapped a half shaft within a month

Re: Hello there
Hi Christian,
that's a proper sleeper you've got there, I bet that surprises a few people ( until your driveshaft snaps)
How do you find the steering with the steering box.... it's the one thing on the RX7's that we wish we could change.... it's difficult to get rid of the play in the setup.

Re: Hello there
Hi Christian,
Bodywork on that top shot (engine bay), could be easily mistaken for 1st Gen RX7.
So as you say, maybe a lot of common parts.
Remember Series 1 & 2 1st gen running gear is quite different in places from Series 3.
For example Series 1 and 2 uses 13" wheels with lug bolts whereas Series 3 is 14" using nuts.
This is also true for the half shafts. 24 spline on S1/S2, 26 spline on S3.....I think that's right?
If you car is 1982 that equates neatly to a Series 2 1st gen production year. Your colour also looks like Renaissance Red, which was a Series 2 colour.

Re: Hello there
I understand that 1st gen struts bolt in, but because they are much shorter the car gets very low.
You could get 210bhp from a naturally aspirated 13b - maybe consider a swap?

i had all the bits for this conversion at my disposal when a chap broke an s13 for bits at our unit. was a pretty easy conversion to be honest.
pretty pleased with it, keeps up with my mates e46 m3 all day.
