Hi guys.
Funny noises coming from miss January's back axle.
Anybody got a good s2 diff for sale? Or perhaps an entire axle?

Thanks Ian.
I will give him a ring tomorrow.
You remember I mentioned on Monday that it was whining? Well it is now making graunching and even ringing noises - so I think I had better do something about it fast.
As you know I was talking about "engineering" a hybrid axle, based on a S3 axle but with S2 brakes and Hubs re-drilled for 13" (ie. S2 110mm PCD) wheels and an MX5 LSD. However I appear to have run out of time - unless someone out there with an engineering shop can build such a hybrid for me....

Decent guy to deal with, he helped me load an engine into the back of my car and then made me a cuppa!ian65 wrote:there's a s2 being broken in Banbury John.... I've bought parts off him and so has Keith

Re: Series 2 diff / axle?
It isn't as easy as just having it redrilled for 110mm. The S3 axles stick out farther than the S2 axles because the axles are actually longer. The actual housing has the same flange so the calipers will bold right up. If you could get a set of US spec non SE S3 axles, than it would all bolt in easy. You could also get a set of Moser Axles. http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/product_info. ... db6ba4c520Johnnyboy wrote:Thanks Ian.

Are you desperate to keep the 110 PCD?
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......
