Chaps,
It looks like the US is the only real choice for sourcing a decent rear disc for my S3 Rally car. I'm going with 4 pot AP calipers with 280mm discs up front, but for now staying with the std S3 rear disc set up, with mild race spec pads.
I know that the std S3 rear disc is 256mm dia with 20mm thick and vented with a pcd of 4 x 114.3.
Which one of you clever fellows know which US model was fitted with this disc ? I'm guessing that it is the GSL-SE ?
All info gratefully received !
Cheers DB.

I can attest to the fact that the 84/85 GSL/12a cars did not have the same brakes as our Series 3, and are in fact dead ringers for Series 2 ones.
Ask me how I know

yes, only the GSL-SE had the bigger brakes.... which is why they went to 14" wheels...... the brake piston diameter is the same though so the same caliper rebuild kit will do both s2 and s3 ( or GSL and GSL-SE if you're in the US)RamoNZ wrote:I can attest to the fact that the 84/85 GSL/12a cars did not have the same brakes as our Series 3, and are in fact dead ringers for Series 2 ones.
