Having just been told that both Whitey & Goldie are going to new ownership, I suppose I might have to start making plans for another project car later in the year - if I were to do this I would seriously consider looking for an Sa before they become too scarce

Yeah - a very easy transaction and I got the deal I wanted with the added benefit that they are going to the same owner. He was only asking me before how much work was required to finish Goldies bodywork, so I get the impression that he wants both of them roadworthy !
Great news as I should see them in my local area but YES I'll be sorry to see them both go - I have put both heart and soul into restoring these cars and time/effort is something which really cannot be costed. I didn't really buy into these on the basis of making a profit - I did it 'cause I luv'em but as it happens I have and all this is offset against the cost of the Elford which in itself has made it all worthwhile :D

well like you say you'll see them around and they are with someone who'll take care of them.
the elford should make up for it all though. :)

fb's seem to be getting more scarce as not many for sale, so i can see their value rising considerably especially ones in good condition.

This is something which has been discussed from time to time and would seem to be dependable upon availability, the timing of buying/selling, number of buyers and their interest/determination (just how deep their pockets are). We have seen it many times before where good condition cars are either over priced or sell for rediculous low and come to that high money indicating no stability in the market. So yes, it would be good to see prices on the increase at last - not only for the good ones but for the needy ones too.

I've got an SA shell that would make a good restoration project. Solid front rails, rear mounts going in usual places and needs rear arches but no way near a goner.

Nice to know there are still some around. No plans as yet but definitely keep this in the memory banks for the future. 0-0

Hey Spoddy, deed was completed this afternoon. The new owner says they are going to get a full body restoration during the next 2 years - that'll be worth seeing :D
