Hello..
Hello.. came across this forum whilst being on the hunt for a first gen and quickly signed up. Not an owner just yet.. but looking out for one to cherish for myself. I have always loved the shape of the fb even though they are older (considerably) than me. My first sighting of one infact was the imsa gtu car and that blew me away! Looking at some examples now I still cannot get over how much better looking this car was than the competition and for its time.
So all in all.. from a non owner enthusiast to all you owners.. nice to meet you and hope we can share the love (and hate) for these cars as time goes by.
Regards, Fizz.

Re: Hello..
Hi Fizz, you're very welcome!
If you're on the lookout for a 1st gen, check out the thread ' just seen this' in the Spotters corner of this forum.... nearly every 1st gen RX7 that comes up for sale in the UK is listed in there within a day or so ( usually within a few hours)
Forum member Codge ( Dave) runs the 1st gen database which records all known remaining 1st gens in the UK.... quite often Dave will be able to give you some history on a car being offered for sale if it's on his database.
Ronnie ( Spoddy on the forum) is also an enthusiast looking to buy a 1st gen so you're not alone...
Glad to have you onboard.... enjoy the forum!
cheers,
Ian
( check out the red TWR on this page.... full mot for £995..... looks like a good deal to me...

Re: Hello..
Thanks Ian! Hopefully not a non owner for too long I hope..
I am keeping an eye out and will definitley be looking at that thread.. is there any disadvantages from having a s2 or s3? or is it the case of as long as any of them are clean there fine?
Oh and i realise i might be a little younger than the cars.. but still an 80's child
Fizz.

Re: Hello..
Hi Fizz and welcome. I'll be glad to help with any background if I can, but unable to do owt for the next 2 weeks as away on hols.
There was a nice S3 in Norwich that we drooled about but the seller was a bit reclusive and didn't leave any contact details.
The threads gone dead now and I don't know if the car sold.
I prefer the S3 to the S2. Just a preference - bigger wheels, better brakes and a bit more in the way of luxo fittings ..
real purists prefer S1's for the hardship..
but they're megga scarce now.
But you pays your money and.......

Re: Hello..
Thanks, i will send over anything i find to you as i'd love to be able to get any insights to what im purchasing.. i must say the 2 cars that im quite keen on are the red twr ian mentioned and the s2 with spare engine etc advertised for £1500.. as both have lengthy mot's which should mean are not worse off rust wise. At the minute im really really just getting up to speed with whats what... between series and other models.. elford twr's etc

Re: Hello..
hello mate and welcome.
i was looking at the blue s2 for 1500 too, got an email/pics from the owner.
the twr look nice, but what lurks underneath? ian can assist you in what you need to know,
where to look for rust/rot.
you're closer to me for the cars so go look at them and let us know how you get on.
