Hello Nice to meet you all

Post by MishlerDennis »

Hello my name is Dennis and I own a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE that I am currently transforming into a 787B Replica Racecar. Her name is Aliah2 and she is my fourth FB RX-7 but the only one that I own as of today. Quite a story on how I obtained my current RX-7. I had a 1984 FB Racecar scalloped rotors, Aluminum rotor housing, Racing Beat intake manifold and Header, 3 1/2in down pipe into a MoTec muffler and a Holley 950cfm DoublePumper carb. Sadly I was in unfortunate financial standings and had to get rid of her in lue of rent. Two years pass by and i pass by a broken down pewter colored FB on the side of a highway, interested if the laws were the same as the state i moved from i inquired with the police if i could remove and keep the vehicle. I was told no and thought i would never own another FB. Three years more pass and the very same pewter FB is in the local junkyard, i jump on the opportunity because of my want of another legendary FB and to save the car from the crusher scheduled for the following week. The car was being purchased for a friend that had a 1980 FA that was in need of parts, I found out for my friend that the car had a bad title "totaled without being damaged?" so the vin plate had to be removed. My friend lacks appreciation for the FA and FB so he within a few months gave up on his project with me being the mechanic. My friend gave me the 1985 FB and shortly after I found out I could get a vin assigned to me by my current state. This car is being made into a Renown Racing Racecar Replica with my little touch of detail. Details on what i have done will be coming soon or if asked i will more than gladly talk about any FA or FB all day long.
Thank you All for reading and I am looking forward to meeting other people that Truly Appreciate and care for the cars that birthed an amazing Legend that will live forever. :)

Hi, welcome and well done for saving one from an ugly death 8-) Be good to see some pics when you get a chance? Pewter sounds like a good colour, is it that Tornado Grey we never got here in the UK?

Thank you I couldnt stomach waching another RX-7 getting destroyed. Here are the pictures i hava taken so far, i have three kids so i am on quite a tight budget, I honestly estimate two-eight years until my Racecar is built properly. The paint is Tornado gray i believe, i found a spot and buffed it to a shine will update with a picture of the original color for you.
