The big Vauxhall might be a Viscount? It's not a Victor derivative I don't think.
There was a triplet of models around 1976/1977 with similar 'V' names. Can't remember the others.
Codge. (I remember I'm codger).

lol, I remember, Dave. You're probably the only one of us who can remember the difference between Austin vans from the days of black and white
I have to bow to your ineffable wisdom on that one. As to the Vaux... no idea. I wondered if it might be one of those GM things and it was actually an Opel with a Vauxhall badge? Like a Commodore or something?

I think one of the other 'V's' was Vauxhall Viceroy.
That went up against the Opal Royale as I recall ???????? Might be all over the place here?
My Dad And I share-drove a white A30. 'The Little White Pig' we called it. GEE 86, secondhand from Grimsby......gotta trust me here guys.

The other "V" was the Ventura. The car in the pic might be one of those?

Nice write up mate, great pics too.
The blue Studebaker is my Dad's car. I found the pic on google images and it led me here.
It's a '51 Champion Starlight Coupe, albeit very modded. The Starlight bit refers to the rear window.
Its got a new front clip with rack and pinion and SLA suspension on coil overs, ali head 350 chevy, TH700 4 speed auto with shift kit, Ford 8.8 LSD 3.73 rear end. 4 wheel discs, recessed firewall etc...
The guy we bought it from did most of the work, we just changed the trans, heads, rear end and have been putting some of the original parts back on that were taken off in the 90's, we've changed the interior from magnolia to black also.
It's currently got the doors, bonnet and boot from another '51, the rear wings have been off and refurbished, just needs spraying now back in the Jag Antigua Blue the previous owner sprayed it in.
Cheers again for the pics!

Thanks for dropping in.
That reg was originally Scotland??? A long way up in Wick. Maybe a cherished number transfer or did the car first run about up there?
Maybe a US forces import?

Hi there, thanks for the reply.
I've just spoken to Dad and he's just dug out a copy of Custom Car from 2000 when the Stude was featured. The previous owner (Teri Smith) bought it from an ex Custom Car editor called Keith Seume. It was stock when Keith had it, and nodded by Teri.
Not sure where the plate came from?
Thanks for the info though!

Funny ol world, innit! Quite a journey for the old Studebaker... the U.S. to Scotland to darn sarf somewhere. Anyway, glad you liked the photos. I think I have some more somewhere, possibly from a previous year at Bromley. Humbling that someone can find my crappy old pics floating about on google and care enough to come on here and say hi
