Re: Hi I'm a New Member
Well I am trying my hardest to upload the pics of my Car and am getting really frutrated as I carnt seem to do it!! I have opened up a photo bucket shop account as advised and dowloaded my pictures, so far so good, but then I try to copy them into the message box on the forum and all I get is the actual blurb attached to the photo but no Picture!!
I have checked other posts to see how the blub looks and mine is the same but with no Picture, HELP!! I'm sure it carnt be that difficult but I need to know what I am doing wrong.
If possible could one of you private message me with a contact number and I will give you a call at your convenience tonight and hopefully you can talk me through it. Sorry to be a pain but hopefully you all will appreciate my efforts once you have seen my Car.
Regards Lee

Try just posting the link and leave it so we can see it, might help us diagnose the problem?
Or use the attachment option right at the bottom of the page - then you don't need the photo bucket link.

Re: Hi I'm a New Member
I guess mine is now a new spot Dave? I carnt remember the last time I saw a Mk1 on the road anywhere!codge wrote:Hi Lee,
Welcome from me.
If you look in the Spotters Corner section on here you'll find a 1st Generation Location List. Find the May 2013 list, not the Jan 2013 list.
(We would call your car a Series 1 car, our others in the 1st Gen stable are Series 2's and Series 3's. The 1st gens finally changed over to the 2nd Generation Porsche lookalike cars in 1986 but you probably know that already).
You'll see Series 1's are rare as hen's teeth; I've only 2 noted in Kent.
Hope you can post some pics so I can see if I have your car noted anywhere. (I doubt it if it's not been sold and moved about like most).
It'll be a new spot.....![]()

That really is in great condition!
You're right about them being rare, I've never spotted one randomly either, I put this down to not just rarity but the low average mileage they do - in fact I wonder who is actually doing the most week to week? They need a prize!
I take it your Canadian by the maple leaf, but is everything else as you bought it?

Re: Hi I'm a New Member
Its a long story regarding Canada but that is the reason I own the Car. No I'm english but am married to a Canadain but that has nothing to do with the Maple Leaf on the front. I actually had the spoiler kit fitted in about 1985 from a guy who owned a similar car in Ireland but he wrote the Car off before he had chance to fit the kit so he gave me it for free!! Remember I was only in my early 20's then so had it fitted as it matched the colour of my car perfectly. The RX7 detailing on the side was from someone at the garage who was doing all the cars as they were sold so I had it done too!!RamoNZ wrote:That really is in great condition!

I paid £6000 for the car back then and my Dad thought that I had lost the plot as many of my friends had a mortage for a house for the same payment that I was making on my Car.

Wow, that really is in lovely condition Lee
I've only ever seen one series 1 before with the black interior, that was on a red car as well....... most s1's have some dubious coloured interiors by today's tastes, I suppose in the late 70's, beige check seats in a green car was all the rage!
Great to see that unmolested centre console with the factory radio and the cassette player..... most have been butchered to take a modern stereo.... an act of vandalism I'm ashamed to say I was guilty of with my series 1 back in 1988.
That's a TWR rear spoiler isn't it?
Your car must be one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest series 1 left in the UK..... very nice!

Re: Hi I'm a New Member
Thanks Ian, not sure about the spoiler but I do know it was to go on a identical car in NI. Beleive it or not I did contemplate having the Car sprayed Black back in the late 80's!! Thank god I did not go through with itian65 wrote:Wow, that really is in lovely condition Lee![]()
