Caliper grease?

Post by wiggman2030 »

I recently purchaserd rebuild kit from bigg red. It didn't come with any grease. I know that you need some orange and red stuff because of something to do with it breaking down the rubber and mixing with brake fluid or something. Does any one know where I can get this grease from or if there is something I can use instead?

Cheers :-)

just lube the piston seal ( the one in the bore, not the dust seal ) and the piston with brake fluid and then grease the slider with silicon grease.

Nice one. Cheers Ian :-) what should I use for the handbrake lever arm stuff under the cover at the back? Or should I not touch that?

silicon grease if it needs lubing...... don't disassemble the handbrake mech under the rubber cover though or you'll never get the b*****d back together again. It's usually just the piston that's sticking or seized in the bore so cleaning it up and fitting a new seal should sort it out.
