I finally got inspired to work on a car and apply the very rudimentary knowledge I have of mechanics. The first car that came to mind was the RX-7 (FC), but I looked around at other '80s cars too, such as MR2s, 944s, and Preludes. The RX-7 was always my favorite looking car, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to get a rotary because I have no experience and it seemed like there would be more complications with an atypical engine. My friends recommended looking at an older (series 1) RX-7 because there would be less electronics and it would be easier for me to start with. Fortunately, I liked how the FB looked even more than the FC. Just by chance an ad for a used and functional 1985 GSL-SE came up and even though it is fuel injected, I didn't think I could pass up that opportunity!
Here are the more significant things on my laundry list:
1. new front suspension
2. fix tiny, tiny oil leak
3. fix small windshield leak
4. new tires
5. hook up speedometer
Thanks!

Re: Portland, Oregon
Hiya, and welcome! Reckon you made the right choice there. The FC looks like a not-quite-as-nice 944 but the FB looks like a much nicer 924
As to Preludes.... eh? What an anonymous car, even for a Honda, lol. Can't say anything about MR2s as the Boss is an MR2 sufferer... errrr, I mean owner

Get us some pics if you get a chance, we all love pics lol. In my experience fixing a tiny oil leak is a good way of guaranteeing it'll spring a much larger one somewhere else

Hi and Welcome.
Sounds like you have picked yourself up a real solid car if your to do list is so short.
Pictures are always appreciated here.
