Hello,
Just introducing myself to the FB club really. I'm quite an active member on MRC and FDUK and no doubt quite a few guys already know me from them.
I've had my FB for close to 5 years and it suffered an engine failure about 8 weeks ago on the motorway at 60mph. It has been my daily driver for nearly 5 years, mostly running on LPG with a 6 port 13b egi engine.
I'm looking round a my options at the minute of what to do with the car. I'm really struggling to justify spending money on the car to put it back on the road but would hate to break the car for parts because they are so darn rare now.
I'd been doing searches for available engines (most likely 12a) to try and get the car running again but came up short. This club came up during a search and I thought it was well overdue to say hello and possibly look for somebody willing to buy a project.
Shaun

Yes !
Just emailed the guy in Skem off ebay about his 12a. If I can get it on the cheap the fb may come back in one piece (fingers crossed)

Re: Hello !
Hi Shaun,
welcome to the fb forum
It's gutting about your engine letting go, especially after the work you put into it doing the gas conversion. I agree though, it'd be a crying shame to break it for the sake of a 2nd hand engine...... I've still got the original alloys off that car! It's always the way isn't it? when you don't need a cheap 12a, they seem to be everywhere but when you really need one, there are none to be found.
If you are definitely wanting to sell the car on, post up an ad in the 'for sale' section as you may get a bite.
Glad to have you on board
cheers,
Ian

Re: Hello !
Will add the current ad off mrc for it in the current state.
If I could get a running 12a for not much money then I could sell the car for a little more without mot and tax. Would want a little welding to get through mot but nothing too serious.
I used the car for 5yrs constantly and the only time I had issues was when the weather got stupidly cold. Rest of time I enjoyed the fun of driving it every day !

Re: Hello !
I seen that thread and watched it go cold.
Did you ever open the engine up to find out what happened?
Did you ever open the engine up to find out what happened?
