So does anyone know why it is this shape?
It's obviously not to clear anything.....clutching at straws here but is it to compensate for the Watts link being off centre?

Rear Sway Bar - Is this normal?
So.......now I have the rear axle free I noticed something odd with my rear sway bar. Is the stock bar supposed to be asymmetrical? It seems quite severe if it was caused by damage, especially as noting else looks problematic. As per the images below - notice how one side is flat and the other has a...

Re: Rear park brake cable removal issues
Yes, I was nervous about using the hammer but after I found a picture of the assembly I understood how it had to come out. Just and an FYI, i managed to get a full set of new hand brake cables and all new hardware (springs, retaining clips etc etc) for the rear drums from RockAuto. It's amazing the ...

Re: Rear park brake cable removal issues
WooHoo!!! 0-0 I got them off! So the narrow "ring" you see where the crimped cable sleeve goes into the back of the drum - the slot used to contain a clip that held the cable in place. Mine was missing but is was all still held tight by rust. After a lot of PB Blaster/Deep Creep soaking an...

Rear park brake cable removal issues
Hey Guys! So I am trying to remove my entire rear axle so that I can change the shocks/springs, bushings, and paint everything. I have managed to loosen all bolts and am ready to drop the axle, but I am stumped as to how to unhook the parking brake lines to the drums I tried searching threads, my se...

Re: Self wheel alignment on FB
OK, thank you, funny how neither one points that way....I guess you really never know what previous owners or other mechanics have done beofre you get a car!DKWW2000 wrote:If you want them to be as per Stock, they need to be pointing at A (Engine FWD) according to your above diagram.

Re: Self wheel alignment on FB
So just to clarify, the lettering is as per the attached picture? If so then I should be making sure that both sides point to the same direction, by the sounds of things both to B or both to A. Wonder how mine ended up one at B the other at D?? I guess i will rotate the one at position D to position...

Re: Self wheel alignment on FB
So dumb question - is the other side (drivers in the UK) the mirror of this diagram? I am now worried that mine are pointing to different letters ...my UK passenger side points to D (forwards and away from engine) but the drivers side points to B (backwards and towards engine), so 180 from each othe...
