The only time I've had issues with an idle (when all else was seemingly ok) was with an elusive vacuum leak.

Don't sweat the forum/internet learning process. We're all always learning as they keep changing/upgrading the technology. I often find it's the unlearning of previous tech that gets me frustrated. :)
