Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'

Congrats on your purchase, these cars are relatively easy to work on, so you should be able to sort some of the issues out quite easily. as mentioned before get hold of a haynes manual! So some initial remarks: She handles well for a car of that age that probably hasn't had much done in the way of r...

Re: Engine Oil

manual says 20w50, I have been using total racing 10w50. 10w40 seems a bit on the thin side.

also 6k seems like a long service interval, I tend to only do 2/3k. I have an S4 13B from an FC so I did the thermal pellet bypass mod when changing front covers.

Re: A big THANK YOU to you all!

Very sorry to hear this news, a real loss to the RX7 FB community. His story of owning Gus is very unique, and I was always very impressed with his register that he kept maintained. It is great to see that Ian is going to keep the register maintained.

Re: Waterless coolant

evans, its just propylene or ethylene glycol. Its flammable, slippery as, and does not transmit heat well. It is good for keeping out corrosion, but s**t as a coolant. As its also flammable, meaning if your car sprung a coolant leak its entirely possible the whole machine could light up. An obvious ...

Re: oil cooler replacement advice

I understand the original mazda ones are widely regarded as the best, I think they were originally made by calsonic. It looks like atkins has 2 left in stock for £630 each! They also list GSL-SE and FC ones which can be fitted, and the wording sounds like these are still made, but also very expensiv...
