A mechanic looked over my car as I have rust but he also said I have "rusty sump mounts". I'm not sure what he meant by this.. maybe engine mounts or subframe? I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas or I might get rid of the car like the mechanic suggested....

good call, I've never seen a 'sump mount', never mind a rusty one.

I'll bet he means the undertray.
The 2 side fixing lugs at the front do have a habit of rusting out.
If so it's only sheet metal and the car will run without it until you can fix/replace.
What's it for? Aerodynamics I guess.

Yeah I was confused by this but I work up north and my car is at home in Bristol so I haven't had a chance to investigate but I will pop some pictures up when I am back down there... I'm glad his diagnosis tickled you because I've never hear of sump mounts.. haha!

Check the FCs. Engine mounts through the sump on a Tii.
