I know it's a silly thing, but I'm after one of the little oblong trim pieces that go round the lock tab doobrie that sticks up out of the doorcard by the window. Anyone have one? Stop my lock tab doobrie flopping around lol

Finally got a minute out of work early enough to go down the Post office and collect the mystery letter that apparently had "insufficient postage" on it  So now I have a nice new lock trim piece lol. Thanks Ian, bet you were wondering how I could be so rude as to not mention it  , in actual fact I was trying to work out WTF it could have been. Evidently even though it would have fitted through my letter box easily and was essentially a small flat plastic widget in an otherwise empty envelope, the Post Office in their infinite "wisdom" decreed it must be considered a Large Letter as it didn't go through their plastic cut-out testing slot. Therefore there was an outstanding charge of 12p :o Their fee for administering bringing the letter to my door, then refusing to deliver it and taking it back to their sorting office? £1  So it cost me £1.12 to retrieve a more-or-less-flat envelope  .

In no way was this meant as a criticism of the generosity of the sender, thanks a million for sending it, Ian W(p , but more an illustration of the insanity of our postal service and maybe even an insight into why business increasingly turn to independent couriers for their delivery needs

what a complete load of nobheads. The sooner it's opened up the all the other competition the better....... see how much they manage to sting us for then.
A f****** birthday card weighs more than that flat plastic thing.

Yeah, it seemed pretty mental to me. Reckon it was the bubble wrap that did it, you should have left it off then it would have fitted through their stupid slot gauge... and they could have felt they'd achieved something when the postie snapped it in half for me

Anyhoo, no harm done and I've got it now, so thanks again, lol

I use parcel post/ large letter / small packet services a lot and I feel I must defend Royal Mail.

But I can't......they've gone completely to ratshit over the last few years.....

What's next? You can only post on quiet days, like Wednesday??
