Exhaust gaskets

On my Elford engine, which was rebuilt by RX Motors, Tim used a 13b exhaust gasket and cut it in half and used it on the 12a which is obviously narrower across the exhaust ports than the 13b.
Genuine 12a gaskets are around £28 so my question is, do you think these would work on a 12a?

If RX Motors have previously done this then why not! Sounds a fair assumption to me.

Hi Ian
I used the genuine 12A gasket from Mazda, but did have the manifold refaced first as it was warped, the genuine works just fine for me.
Cheers
Ian

Yeah mate, that'll work fine.

I've hung onto some oused 12A gaskets cos they're stupid expensive now from Mazda. A good used one will be fine too.
