Sun Visor Mounting

Just going through the final checks on my car before I get it home and noticed that the passenger side sun visor is drooping.

It appears that the plastic part that fits inside the spigot has a crack and is now not providing sufficient friction to prevent the visor from drooping.

Just wondered if anyone has any spare sun visor locating parts available that may help to fix.

I am collecting the car tomorrow so will then be able to see exactly what part is at fault. I looked on 84-85 parts fiche and no obvious parts shown other than complete visor assembly.

Thanks for any help.

Dave

If no joy with owners on here, it might be worth seeing if Tim at RX-Motors has one, or even Aston at Essex Rotary, as he has a few 1st Gens in his yard now.

Additionally, if it's a plastic removable part, maybe a 3D printed replacement is an option?

Thanks. Tim was on my list to try once I worked out what I need. I got the car back today and it has a temp fix implemented so OK in the short term.

I see Phil’s Rotary’s has them but an expensive option with the postage.

Hiya,
I’m sure I have some tucked away somewhere, I can have a dig around if you still need some.
Do you have any specific colour in mind ?
Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve,

Ideally black if you have any but colour not important. I think they are handed and it is the passenger side that is cracked. Let me know if you have any.

Thanks for your help.

Dave

Hi Dave,
Found them today, just the spikes not the complete visors , pm me your address if you want them and I’ll post them to you.
Cheers Steve.
P.S. they are dark grey.

They are handed, clearly marked L / R.
