Coolant temp readings

Post by KiwiDave »

Recently, my temp readings on the factory gauge have been as high as 3/4 up the scale. I have now installed an electric fan and a digital fan controller so I can see the actual radiator coolant temps. I can now see that radiator temps are fine.

The factory temp guage sender is located in the rear iron. I'm wondering what is causing this sudden temp increase from the factory guage? I'm thinking sender, water pump or simply a cooling sytem cleaner?

Factory guage will come down eventually once the car is on the move but still reads significantly warmer than before.

Do I have an issue here or am I worrying too much?

Polish the old ones wire contact and check the masse contact between engine and bodyshell, sometimes will help Dave.
