Hi everyone. Chris from Sunny Jersey here. In my younger days I used to be the proud owner of an Elford turbo, with body kit, debadged and a red and gold custom paint job. Amazing car and always turned plenty of heads. I was also fortunate enough to be able to take her down to the Le Mans 24 hour race on 3 separate occaisions including 1991 when of course a Mazda 767B won. Its not easy camping out of an RX7 but the last time I made it much easier by taking just the outer skin of a 4 man full height tent and simply using that as a garage. Me and my mate slept down either side in sleeping bags on the ground. This also had the added advanatge of keeping dust off the car when I was watching the racing track side, and enjoying the funfair. I really regret selling her but got spooked when another driver ran into the back of me. An insruance job, his of course, but it took a total of 7 weeks in the garage, and 4 separate goes before they managed to match the paintwork correctly. Needless to say that made me nervous and I ended up trading her in against a brand new built to order TVR S2, and which I colected from the fcatroy. Don't judge me please I now know better! Anyway I would love to find another good Elford turbo, but would also be ecstatic to own a good 1st generation again. A bit of bdoy work and even an engine rebuild would not phase me. Now I have the time and the resources to take good care of another RX7 I'm actively looking. So hope to be active on here, and if anyone knows of any good Elfords or just 1st gen cars for sale please do let me know.

Thanks ThreeSeven. I realise there is a certain amount of competition on here whenever a good example comes up. Fingers crossed though and in the meantime I'm reading the boards and learning lots that will hopefully help me in the long run. rdg :-)

What a stunning car - do you know it's eventual fate?

Oh, and good luck with the search for a suitable replacement
