Lovely, Thanks Ian. Tears in the eyes, but we can still see our baby.

Took Gus to DFTR Automotive this morning, the go to place for retro and classics in the Midlands, to get a compression test done on my rotary engine. It's the original engine, 57,000 miles, never thrashed and has had oil changes every 3000 miles from new so I was curious to see how this reflected in the engines health. Annoyingly, as can be seen in the pictures, my Iphone didn't photograph the led display of the meter properly so the displayed numbers are either incomplete or missing but the test did show that the front rotor was averaging in the high 7's and the rear rotor in the low 7's so I'm pretty happy with that for an engine that has never been rebuilt.
Front rotor 8.2, 7.8. 7.7 and rear rotor 7.6, 7.5, 6.9
A big thanks to Adam and Dean at DFTR Automotive, these guys live and breath retro and classic cars and really know their rotarys too... I could have stayed there all day talking cars, cheers guys!

Yeah, the shutter speed is too quick on the phones to capture the numbers. Same on my unit.

Went to the classic car show at Weston park today... not a great show but the weather was lovely and it was a nice sunny day for us to take Gus out for a spin. I couldn't stop all day so parked in the public parking area, not on the show field but Gus drew a couple of admiring comments like " that's stunning, if I had that I'd park it on the show field". Nice to get a bit of appreciation for the car even when it was parked with the moderns....
