Hi

It's mostly a standard car. The exhaust mid cat has been replaced with a silencer. And a koyo radiator. The rest including intercooler is standard.

Oh here's a grousome picture of what lays ahead...

Missed your reply somehow... I want to do things as best I can, it needs 3 patches for an mot. So it could go through in the summer if I patched it up. However I want to learn more than how to bolt on pads, discs or shocks and I want this car to last a long time... So hopefully 28th advice I'll be doing a lot of preservation and prevention underneath .... The body works bad in places so will need a lot of work there to make it presentable....

On that note, I had some spare time yesterday( Its even rarer than spare cash) so started taking the interior out and see what horrors await.

And to my surprise ( so far) nothing too scary! I would be interested to hear if what's in the pics is good/bad or average...

Ok here we go...hope the pics make sense and they're not too boring (D)

Sills look ok despite rust bleeding over the outside.

Any idea what these plugs are for? Beaten seats for a different market?

First casulty of the day, broken on the floor but to remove the seatbelt... Both appear seized solid!!

Rear seems clean?

Only rust in rear floor, the support beams look like they'll make working in the area a nightmare.

Possible crustyness

Running out of time, but drivers side ..

Had another few hours at it, and a helper this time too... Making the most of nap time yay dash is ready to come out, other than a black wire to the heater control box, any ideas how this is removed?

Amazing how long this takes when it's your first time... Finding all the bits!

Another minor update... I'm at the point now where I need storage, I'm currently using the car to store all the interior bits, so I'm hunting for a local place to store the interior safely and dry.. ( the interior of the cars soaked with the recent rain we've had)

The dash loom has been a nightmare to remove from the main loom as all the audio has been properly basterdized, also I found an alarm or immobilizer box I'll need to remove, it just slows progress so much.

A couple of photos..

Is this the only FC project ongoing ? Pete's looks very complete!!

Bloody hell Rich, you are certainly doing a thorough job, must be difficult in this weather but you seem determined, it will be worth it in the ling term. Take plenty of pictures as it is easy to forget where things go & makes it a lot easier putting back together & also great to look back on , well done on saving another W(p

It's not saved yet... This is just the beginning,

I'm hoping once the interior is out I can get The engine and box too, then the stripping and rust repairs start which is the hard time consuming part!

That’s what you think.

The really hard part will be trying to track down replacement plastic clips for all the ones you will break.

Seeing all the right moves there. Take your time and do it thorough. Later on, you will be glad you did all that work when reassambling the car.
