Anyone know where to source these? I'm missing a couple ... legacy from swapping out the diff for a torsen. I should really renew all four.

Mazdatrix do them Dave. You might be able to get them from a main dealer or measure them and search screw suppliers.

Yes, these strip very easily and I have had to use impact screwdrivers to get them out. I have bought replacements from Mazda in the past. The correct part number is 9983-10-816 - currently list price on an US based site I use is US$1.25 each. Same part as FC and FD rear brakes as well as FD and RX8 front brakes. It is also a current part used on Mazda 2, 6, CX7, CX9, etc so should be readily available.
This part is only for series 3 rear ventilated discs NOT the s2 solid rotors (which use a button screw that is NLA).
Mazdatrix lists 9983-10-820 but this is for FC and FD front brake rotors. It probably still fits but could be a different length.

From what I understand these aren't actually needed and just hold the disc on while you have a wheel off?

The screws are M8 x 1.25 pitch, screw length 12mm, overall length 15mm, head looks to be 45 degrees.
Hope that helps ?
