RHD gen 1 idler arms?

Hi guys been trying to chase up a new idler arm for a gen 1 rx7.
it doesnt need rebushing! it is the knuckle end of the idler arm with the excessive play in it.
moog caters well for the LHD market in america.
but keep coming up empty for idler arms in RHD.
keep getting told we have bushes for them, even pitman arms available.
if i keep coming up empty will be forced to go 2nd hand.
just really like to get new as it is a 35 year old car.
if u know where please shout out.

I understand the knuckle end can be reconditioned by pressing a sleeve into it. See last post here:

I would of never thought about that aye. Sounds interesting. I've had a Superpro bush in my drawer for years that I haven't replaced

. Might do it tomorrow before I go for a drive

ye i wished it was in need of the bushings
i too have a spare set of bushes sitting in my drawer.
unfortunately all the play is in the knuckle end of the idler arm.
i will keep the worn idler arm and ask around for prices for getting it resleeved
just i suspect it will be some $$$ involved.
tried everywhere for a new unit, but not in RHD
in the meantime ive tracked down a 2nd hand unit for $40
fingers crossed that will do the job and i wont have to worry about it again.

are these idler arms handed then? I know the housing/mount is but I thought the actual idler arm was the same.... LHD or RHD.
What's to stop you getting a new LHD idler arm and fitting it into your RHD housing/ mount with a new poly bush?
Has anyone actually compared the 2 arms, LHD and RHD like for like?
This is the idler arm on my car and there doesn't seem to be an bias towards either RHD or LHD...
or as Hobbawobba suggested a while back....

I don't see why this wouldn't work if you lined it up, drilled new holes through the chassis rail and used some crush tubes.... is there any reason why the bracket can't just swing round and be fixed to a RHD car via new mounting holes through the rail?.... this would be the fit and forget option if it could be done.

i really hope that is the case.
that a LHD idler arm fits on RHD vehicle.
its quite possible someone has ordered a LHD idler arm for a RHD vehicle
by mistake without thinking of the difference.
the play in the knuckle end of my idler arm is getting worse by the day
i should stop driving
2nd hand arm should arrive after weekend

Any news on this thread??
I too am in need of a new idler arm for my RHD Elford Turbo. To old one is properly knackered, so a refurb is unlikely to suffice.
What to do??
