Interior Trim Panels Needed

Hi Chaps,

Does anyone have a set of rear trim panels that are surplus ? Condition is not important I just need the panel that sits behind the front seats on the door pillar and the panel below the rear quarter light. I only really need one side and if necessary a borrow would be fine. I just need a pattern to make some aluminum panels.

Here's hoping.......

Thanks DB

Hi Rich,

I think I have a pair of S3 door cards, they are a bit tatty tho and I can't remember what colour they are either.

Next time I'm at the store, I'll have a look.

Cheers

Mine are a little tatty at the top and replacement vinyl is all to plush looking to recover it... Ideally looking for a straight swap on otherwise I'll figure out how to cover the top up .

You can definitely tell when a series 3 door card has been re-upholstered at the top - the grain of the vinyl never looks right.

If the vinyl is cracked, it is actually possible to get the cracks "glued" back together . I don't know about your neck of the woods, but I've found restoration specialists in Australia who can do this, eg: https://newliferepairs.com.au/products/vinyl/ They'll even re-dye the vinyl colour matched back to original if it has faded.

The other problem with the 1st gen door cards is that the top vinyl is stretched over a metal support then glued onto the back. Over time, the adhesive fails and the vinyl shrinks causing it to bunch up. A good upholsteror should be able to stretch the vinyl back over using heat then glue it back using a modern adhesive.

I hope this helps.

Don't throw these door cards out - they can be saved!

I have both sides of the rear panels if you still need them?
