Hi there, I want to replace the jump wire fuses with female box fuses like in the picture. (Attached) Could anyone please confirm the amp fuses I would need. Is it 30amps 60amps 30amp? I keep reading mixes messeges, like I need a 80amp fuse.

Thanks Dave

As long as you have OEM Starter/Alternator etc, then they are fine, it is only when up-rated ancillaries are added that wiring/fuses should be changed.

Remember that fuses come in 'quick blow' to give almost instant fault clearance, or 'slow blow' to give cascade blowing of fuses set up in series or for safety reasons. I think those wire fuses are designed to work in 'slow blow' style and so a bit of caution might be required. However I think replacement wire fuses are hard to source?

Also the headlights must 'hold on' as long as possible if a fault occurs when you're driving in the dark. Another reason to avoid 'quick blow' fuses.

Wow thanks for the heads up. One of my wire fuses has burn out, and I just don't feel safe with it reconnected if you know what I mean. I was doing the maths and the coloured fuses are a lot cheaper than the hard to find wire ones! I will have to look into the quick and slow blow fuses, that is again for all your help!
