In case you have ever wondered.... this is all it takes to rebuild a rotary...

i liked the sound track

i take it the parts are all new?
i was told most parts are not reusable and best using new housings as very difficult to get good used housings. basically it's so you won't be rebuilding a few thousand miles down the road.

has anyone on here rebuilt their 12a or 13b?

Of course. This is why the parts have tolerances, so you can measure them and see if they're reusable.

As there's no new 12A housings left, how do you think they get rebuilt?

I was talking about all rotary engines in general but if no 12a housings left I take it 13b engines are being used instead.

Are there companies who can resurface the housings of 12a/13b engines? I know there is an accepted tolerance on the edge of housings of something like 2mm. So they can be reused up until they eventually do wear out.

I have thought about sourcing another 13b renesis engine and installing then taking mine apart to learn and see how housings are with possibly adding new seals etc.

What kinda tools do you all recommend?

no crash course in rebuilding your rotary engine courses from anyone on here?

it would be great to have someone show you how to rebuild your engine and explain
it all in a day. as its only 3 moving parts it shouldn't be complicated, just knowing
what tolerances should be and how things go together. tips and tricks etc.

You want the Atkins rebuild DVD.

Would be nice to have someone guide you through everything though and ask questions.

Check out the rebuild videos on our Youtube channel Ronnie.... not the Atkins one but...

Thanks Ian. I found the atkinsrotary web site and they sell the DVD and you can specify which engine you have to get the torque settings etc.

Will look out for a 6 port engine and take things from there.

The 6 port is no different. The concept is the same.
