I have put my car in for a bit a restoration and I want to get the electric aerial repaired or get a replacement whilst the rear spoiler is off.
The aerial works ok but it doesn't quite fully close with about six inches left exposed, my misses would probably say its more like 2 inches
Can they be refurbed?
I have seen somewhere on one of the threads that replacements are hard to find but is there any reason why a modern generic aerial won't work?
Thanks
Kevin
This one has a bunch of different fittings, angled and straight. A generic aerial will work fine, You can either incorporate the existing wiring or re wire your own.
Took about 2 hours to fit, as the previous aerial wasn't OEM and the previous owner had bodged in the wiring. I had to check the wiring, then tidied it up and installed an in-line fuse (to be sure). It runs fine off the console switch. Longest time was spent mechanically securing the bottom of the aerial as access was a pain. Happy with the end result and it works well.
