Can anyone please advise if a S2 Starter will fit a S3?

it's been a while since I've seen them side by side but I seem to remember that they are different.

They look the same at first sight, but the gearwheel is different. So are the part numbers: M3T 26081 / M3T 36081. Part number M3T 26081 has the "longer" gear wheel, M3T 36081 the shorter one. I'm sorry, but I can't tell you, which one is S2 and which one is S3, but you can see the difference on the pictures I made:
