As far as I've been told - It was stored in a barn, and when it was taken out it was just pulled straight through all the stuff that was around it!
Not too sure if it was on ebay recently, the guy I'm getting it off hasn't had it all that long and I haven't seen it on there in the last few weeks!

as long as it isn't rotten underneath of around the windscreen you should be ok..... front wings are doors are cheap and easy to find and you can swap both doors and wings in a day.

Just found the old listing for it... That's the one! I'm paying a bit more for it (Triple that!) but I've been looking for one for a while and it's actually fairly solid!
Small patch on a sill, suspension mounts seem fine, bit of rust behind the headlights but all in all not too bad at all, definitely worth saving. I can get fibreglass wings which may be a decent plan, just a case of finding a pair of doors really... Have no access to any for sale sections of forums at the mo so I've just been keeping a hawk eye on ebay lol!

I play about with Beetles a lot and I'm just finishing a Manta GTE so fairly used to getting stuck in lol.
I'm in Hemyock near Wellington, moved down from Southampton just before Christmas
