There are two small screws that locate the disc, but it might be that the disc is binding on the halfshaft, just tap it with a copper hammer it should come off then.

thanks ill give it a shot. i was worried that the disk came out with the halfshaft, but now i know its seperate ill give it a tap. theres an alloy ring in the center hole of the disk that seems to hold the disk in place dont suppose you have any idea on what that is. ??

I doubt that very much.

Careful though, George's 1st post said he had a Series 2 car, which has 'lug bolts' as the Americans call them, rather than having chromed dome head nuts as on the Series 3.

That axle is S3 methinks.

Same idea George but you will have threaded holes like in Tool's picture not projecting studs.

If I get flamed on this I'm never posting on technical matters again....... f-f

Ah, right I missed the bit bout S2, yes Dave mine is an S3 axle, but apart from the lack of studs, there aint much major difference when it come to removing the disc surely ? apart from the fact that S2 rear discs are solid (and slightly smaller) rather than vented ?

This is from my Elford (S2).

Not a lot different. I'm intrigued by the "alloy ring"

Ah, could be a dust cap for the half shaft ?
