85 GSL-SE saying hello from Oakland, CA.

Post by mercuryman76 »

What's up everybody? Just introducing myself here. Been surfing the interwebs and came across this forum as I'll be working on cleaning up this '85 GSL-SE that's been in the family since about '92. My dad was always a fan of these so we bought this when I turned 16 and at that time it was off the original owner and had about 70K miles on it. I drove it for a few years, then went off to college and my parents moved out to SC. Unfortunately the car sat out for a long time and the paint got pretty beaten up and my dad didn't drive the car much. I'm looking to ship it out to Oakland, CA where I live now and start cleaning her back up. At 28 years old she still only has about 95K miles on the odometer. If there's anyone out in the SF Bay Area that wants to give me a holler please do so as I'd really like to hook up with some folks that know a lot more about tinkering around on these things than I do. Also, would love to find out about more Bay Area rotary resources. Thanks.

Hi mercuryman & Welcome.

Series 3 car, same as mine, same colour.
Over here in UK we only had one model offering from Mazda.... (plus a couple of reputable Mazda approved turbo companies like Elford if you wanted one of those).

Almost like Henry Ford, we could only have one model of car but there were six colour choices.

Hi Mercuryman and WELCOME to our forum ........ a forum dedicated to the RX7fb and a wealth of useful technical data.

The series 3 looks very nice indeed - paintwork shows some signs of being cooked a little - here in the UK our bodies tend to suffer from rust monkey disease

More photos please - HAPPY NEW YEAR
