I've been rebuilding GM classics for awhile and my neither came across a datsun he's going to be building into a sports modded daily. So not to be out done (and bc I can find them cheap and always wanted one) I'll be finding a 7 to bring back to life.

I've got a lot of research to do and such so I hope to not bug you all with newb questions to often.

First question. Should I be looking for a SE model over the others, as a base to start with? I have found both in my area

Hi, and welcome along. When you say "GM classics", are we talking about kinda Cadillacs and Camaros, or more Opel Kadetts? As to which to buy, I guess it depends a bit where you are and what sort of cars are nearby. In the UK we only really had one trim level so we'd always buy on condition rather than specification. I guess you're in the USA, so if you're in a dry state and the cars are all sound and rust-free then buy the best spec you can find. If they tend to be rot-boxes then buy on condition, because they can really go badly when they go and you'll be spending your life on rust repair

Hi Blake, Welcome from me.

I like the idea of 'Blake's 7'..... it was some sort of TV scifi programme here in UK, late 1960's...???
