I've been in and around the "scene" for way too long, and after 24 cars and 11 years of headaches, I've decided to build myself an 83 rx7 gsl. I can't say that I've always wanted a first gen, but they did grow on me quite a bit in the last few months. I'll have her delivered tomorrow to the work shop.
Like any old car, there will be quite a bit of problems, and those will be the first to attend to. As for now I know the steering box is not adjusted, and the steering wheel is quite wobbly; I build driveshafts and rebuild steering boxes, so I'm hoping this is an easy manual box. There's a vacuum leak somewhere in the engine bay; there's a hissing/choking type sound after giving it throttle. Brakes need changing. Hatch struts need changing. Two small nickel-sized rust holes on the rear driver rocker panels. Small dent on the drivers rear wheel well. Fuel pump needs to be mounted and wires tucked. Engine bay needs quite a bit of cleaning. Your sister enjoys my company, and so do I. The interior needs a clean up. Will install new carpets. And last but not least, I need to repair the floors. <--- faaack
Glad to have found this place, I hope to find the info and parts I'm looking for and to give some advice that I may know. Maybe a driveshaft group buy??
