I'm a Noobie!

Post by jim_chung »

Hi all, this Jim from Toronto, Canada. I've had my Fb since new ... 1985 and modified with original Cartech drawthrough turbo. Similar in some respects to Elford implementation but using Holley carb and IHI turbo.

Thanks for the warm welcome, really pleasant surprised to find this (relatively?) new site. Being Canadian, I have an affinity to the eurocentric perspective of these forums and that proper attention is being paid to spelling of the English language (sometimes atrociously lacking in that OTHER Rx7 site).

Anyway, I cobbled some images together to satiate any curiosity. The car was my Dad's in 1985, while I was still a mere student. I've modified it gradually over the years as you will see.

This is from last summer after a total body strip and respray. Although the car was never winter driven and always garaged, it had suffered numerous parking lot scratches, stone chips and several large dents from a crazed raccoon trapped in my garage one night.

Here aresome interesting interior shots:

The North American only final FB series interior update which has really aged well, looks almost contemporary 30 years later. Of course a true car enthusiast can never leave well enough alone, I had some custom leather work done during this current winter storage period.

And the work I'm most proud of is the addition of an early series Fc rear seat in place of the stock storage bins. It still folds down to restore the original cargo space of the hatch.

And some final images of recent upgrades. The addition of a headlight cover air intake during last years autumnal colour change.

And a few year back adding illumination to the rear center panel via electroluminescent sheet. Very awesome at night in traffic paired with flames shooting out the tailpipe!

Lovely colour 8-) That Tailblazer panel is bonkers, especially now it's all lighty-uppy :o I have to say I preferred the Cartech logo to the Porsche Turbo one though
