I am going to state the obvious, but is the timing set up correctly?

I only mention it because I am dealing with that at the moment.

I put a timing light on last night but for whatever reason the gun wasn't working, my neighbour 'Mr Tools' has a couple so will get another on asap.

So it ran for a bit, enough to fail an MOT on emissions (running seriously rich), get to a show and eat some more spark plugs along the way, but it did get there!

I was surrounded by FD's, but there wasn't any other FB's or FC's about.

A little help required for the trip home...

There were many laughs as I made brap brap noises out of the window :D

Now I can save some cash up and get it to a tuner to set up and then run the engine in correctly so I can sell my shares in NGK.

This RX8 drag car was immmense!

FB's are exempt from emission testing.... it's a visual check for smoke only

"Petrol vehicles used before August 1975 and diesel vehicles used before August 1979 are tested by sight."

Whats the builders thoughts on this? A mapping issue or is it the general way a new engine runs? Its a cracking looking car so hopfully its back soon :D

the builder agreed to just do the internal rebuild and leave the rest for me to sort out myself or with a reputable tuner due to the Frankenstein nature of the build.

it has started to smooth out a lot when it was running, it really just needs setting up correctly. going to have a chat with Pip at WGT in the near future.
