It was confirmed that is was already ported form the previous build, the 13b centre plate was reused, but modified to seal correctly.

Anyone had experience in settling a rebuild in? I know the procedure, keep the revs down till 500 miles, oil and filter change then again at 1000 and/or 1500 etc, more a question of how rough then can be to begin with.

It's got a way better than initial start-up, but it's still not as smooth as it used to be. Of course its probably been running for less than an hour in total and hasn't moved yet so I guess that's acceptable.

Will stick some photos up of the finished article once the strut brace is on and it moves!

I've had an 13b-rew fresh rebuild, i got the engine after the garage ( who didnt build the engine just installed) had installed it, so have no idea how it initially ran i suppose, when i got it the engine was smooth as expected.

Just fitting the new slave that finally turned up, all a bit time critical now. How much movement should the clutch fork have?

The arm is resting away from the slave cylinder and won't move any further than that car rewards, where as surely it should sit forward and move car rewards when the clutch is depressed?

It's like this:

It's ending up about half way across the opening.

I've literally for hours to get this moving.

you don't need much movement at the end of the fork you can see to give you plenty of travel the other end... you can adjust the clutch travel by adjusting the actuator rod under the dash that connects to the pedal....see here...

both the Haynes and Factory workshop manual describe how to do it.
Have you got a photo of the slave that you bought?

Slave is a blueprint part, pretty much looks identical.

It's looking like a gearbox drop another day, there's no way its working properly as is.

Stuck the new master cylinder on just in case it was ok, turns out it is and I just over though it. Sigh, anyway, fired it up, moved ok, stupidly shut it off after it ran for 5-10 mins to move some cars out of the way.

Then it wouldn't fire. Ffs. Sparks were fouled again, not really sure how. Put ANOTHER new set it to get it going, got it half a mile down the lane before it died. Fuel pressure was low and there was only a tiny bit in the tank so it might just need more. Towed it back and will try again tomoz.

This car is a test of my resolve for sure.

the engine is fresh and if you're happy with your ignition its gotta be a fuelling issue which would tie in with the plugs fouling and it not starting... have the injectors been tested to make sure one isn't just dumping fuel?
For the sake of your sanity it might be worth speaking to Pip at WGT to see you could take the car to him to diagnose your running issues and set it up for you... there are few better.

My plan was to get the engine running then take it to Pip to get it tuned, I've briefly spoke to home via email already.

So yes, will see if it will get going this weekend, either way, it's going to him.
