The joys of owning old cars. I think there's a bug going about, since getting the elford back from Scotland Sunday it has decided to eat its way through 2 rear wheel bearings, a gearbox, front shock, the starter has died this morning and a fuel line decided to cause a squeaky bum moment and its only wednesday. Oh happy days, chin up. 8-)

I think it's because there's a show coming up, they only seem to play up when you need them to be on the road.
Adam, can you please let your dad know that I'll get my car down to the garage as soon as the brakes are fixed.... he's going to give it the once over for me prior to his mot tester doing the test...... I was on my way there this morning until this happened. I'd imagine it's probably a caliper seal but I stocked up on them from Rockauto so if I ned to rebuild a caliper tonight, I'll just do it and try to drop the car off in the morning.

Good news for getting on the road - bad news about the brakes!

Probably to be expected, so good thing you are getting a pre check before the check - I really cant see much going wrong past this as it has been built to a high standard! :)

Fixed!!! :D
checked the inside of the tyres for the tell tale signs of brake fluid but nothing....... opened up the car and on the drivers heel mat was the pin that connects the brake pedal to the master cylinder arm..... I'd forgot to put the split pin in when I fitted the new master cylinder.....
put it back in, fitted a split pin and I'm good to go....
Try again tomorrow.

Dropped it off this morning and said I've leave it there for a few days if needs be...... having a pre mot first before the official mot to see if there are any fails that need dealing with first. The official mot won't happen for at least a week as the tester is on holiday but if it clears a pre-mot, it should be good to go.
