Poor old Gold S2. Can't see her making much more than that £150 start, especially as there's bound to be more rust hiding.

An honest write up though. Sounds like a disappointed buyer. (He probably thought "58,000 miles.....bound to be basically sound").

Pity if it's scrapped. Being in Saxmundham. We could have called it 'Saxy Lady'.

I'd like to see it in person. It does sound like he's a bit disappointed but rust on the rear valence isn't a problem, windscreen, again, not major. I expect there is a load more, but I'd bet it's not as bad as some.

Shame I don't have a trailer and a garage!!

Saxy Lady has been withdrawn from ebay already. Only on there a few hours.

That cracked screen could just be a sympton of serious 'A' Pillar problems. I think that could be a 'biggie'.

Was on ebay in Essex last July.
now relisted at £1750 again
relisted now at £1600 BIN..... I think his original £1200 BIN was nearer the mark.
It's got a full ticket on it but will need another monkey spending on it... as Dave says, it looks like the screen will need to come out to repair the rot and as we all know too well, if it's been stored for 10 years, once it's driven regularly and give a good shake down, it's probably going to need clutch hydraulics, brake hydraulics, a replacement fan, the fuel system cleaning out, etc, etc.
Looks like it'd be a nice car but needs to be bought for the right money... and it's nowhere near that at the moment.

Hey - not sure if this is really the place but I found a book that collates a lot of US and UK road tests of the FB and FC cars - this is all the regs I can make out - black and white so colours are hard to pick.

White S1, no sunroof FKJ 420V
Red S1 no roof, FKJ 418V
? S1 with roof, KLK 577V
Silver S2 EIW 590
Silver S2 UKL 965X
- interestingly, this car pops up in another road test with full Elford Kit and turbo fitted, Nov 81 originally, and feb 83 as the elford car.
? S2 RKK 326W
Red S2 CVV 30X ( plate could differ from this), used car buyers guide, listed as an 81 with 80k for £2250, 01763 phone prefix

Book is called 'Mazda RX7 gold portfolio, 1978-1991'

Any we know?

this is what I know about UKL 965X, the silver series 2. It was a Mazda Uk press demonstrator, lent out to various parts of the motoring press to do road tests on.
When it's days as a press car were over it was sold to Elfords who converted it and then used it for some press road tests & photographs themselves.
I think most of the gold portfolio book was scanned into the e-book a year or 2 back.
