We've had this before. Ian?
So I've been out to the garage now:-
My car (your car's brother) has a light wire with bullet connector onto a block sender - temp I presume, a light wire with spade connector onto a switch/sender under the oil filter - oil pressure I presume, and most importantly a third wire going nowhere. That wire looks black under the oil.

Re: Barn Find Rx7
Thanks Codge,
I will have a look again on sunday and see if i can get to the bottom of it...
I had the MOT today, and it failed. But I am considering it a pass.
It failed on headlights out of adjustment and a non functioning rear fog light. (new one ordered of ebay for £6)
Advisories on tyres being out of shape.
The mot chap seemed impressed with how solid everything was and how good the emissions were.
HAPPY DAYS...

Has Anyone got any recommendations as far as tyres are concerned?
I want to re-ferb the wheel before fitting the new tyres so no rush there.
Its a shame that rx7s are not the same wheel fitment as the mx5, as the BBS's I refurbished over christmas would look great on the car.

Have you considered using hub adaptors? 4x110 to 4x114.3
Headlamps are simple to adjust, just two adjuster screws. They may well require WD-40 (or any other popular penetrating spray brand
) to be generously applied.
Fog lamp ... check if there is power to the bulb first and then the switch as the switch is notorious for failing (usually through lack of use). You will need to remove the cowl to access it. Either take it apart or get some contact spray inside it and work the switch a bit. There is a fog lamp indicator on the dash.
Tyres are a really individual thing. Ask 20 people and you'll get 20 different answers I'm sure. Firstly, if you are sticking with the factory alloys, you won't find anything good in 205/60/14 and it's too wide for the 5.5 inch rim anyway. Look for 195/60/14 or 185/65/14. This keeps the diameter within spec (less than 1.2%) and you have a lot of choice.

Hey GAZ - good things to fail on (if you know what I mean) nothing serious at all and especially excellent news on the underside condition.
Tyres not as plentiful as they used to be but Falken are a good brand

Print this off and keep it handy for your next MOT. Rotary engined vehicles first used before Aug 1987 are subject to a visual test only.
