Nik
I'd quite like to see you go in search of the Holley Grail (see what I did there). I must confess a slight inclination to carb voyeurism here but I've never known anyone who's actually used one on a rota.
Now I know that your Stateside type rotarians mostly think of Webers as carb exotica but then again, their Holley prices must be quite attractive compared to Italian induction, not to mention the nice inlet mani setup that Mr Racing Beat has on offer as additional temptation.
Anyway, I'm getting quite excited now ... thinking about heavy breathing and stuff ...

One if the Dutch guys who came to the BBQ during Eurotrip had one fitted in his RX5 was it?

lol, I was never claiming to be treading completely new ground
That's what I figured (about the earth). It's fine. It's all fine. Three of us have checked it and re-checked it about eight times apiece, and it's fine. The good news is it's been running fine all day with the new control box and no repeat of it going phut as yet. Fingers crossed. Must have been a dodgy box, just hard to tell cos of course they make them up and then fill them with that molten plastic stuff which sets solid, so it's really hard to tell what it is that's got all hot in the first place. It's just one big melty mess now
I thought Ramo smiling and nodding was the default setting for anyone listening to my drivel

I scarcely notice it any more. I physically struggle to even sit in an FC, let alone drive one. Though I must confess I've a morbid fascination for how they actually drive. Yours might be a goer since it's all stripped out. Normally I need an extra joint in each leg to make them short enough to sit on the pedals... and the trim pieces then get in the way. As to the FD engine, i suspect in order to get any worthwhile money I'd have to break it... which would really gnaws me off... but in which case the engine would have to go too. Shame, as it's still tempting

Think there'd be serious turbo clearance issues in an FB bay though

seems to me the way to a stress free life when it come to rotary engines is to keep it simple.... nice fresh 12a or 13b with a carb, get it in good tune and just enjoy it.
Start getting involved with turbos, EFi, bike carbs etc etc and you end up with rough running, detonation, blown seals, constantly tweaking the map to get it to behave, the car off the road for yet another tear down........
fuck that, just strip out all the emission crap, put a nice N/A engine in on a decent carb and then spend your time behind the wheel enjoying life while the efi, turbo boys do yet another rebuild. 160 /170- ish bhp makes one of these fb's a nice car to drive...... no good having 200bhp + if the thing's always breaking down, which most seem to do.

Yes indeed, I remember now. I probably took a photo as well ... before senility set in obviously.

That's what everyone says till they drive a 13BT 1st gen....

yeah, don't get me wrong, if it's a evening and weekend car, reliability doesn't matter so much and can be traded for big power but for a daily driver, less complicated the better IMO

And while you're doing the fan Nik, stick a manual overide switch in the car, just a live feed to the relay from a switch in the car

I think I win then.
13b 6 port in either carb or efi flavours. Simple and reliable.
As I said - take a drive in mine - it's got thinner seats and no trim so you might have a shot of fitting!
