Get 2 nuts, tighten together on the stud and just undo the one closest to the block - they will come off piece of cake and no extractor needed

nice work.... makes all the difference..... I was thinking about using some of that leather dye on the drivers seat of the jag.... how do you rate it?

It's great stuff! I was sceptical at first but their service is first-rate. I sent a bit of leather cut from the bottom of the seat for the FD dye, it was only about 4" square and they got the colour-match spot on, returned it to me and everything. The piece of trim I sent for the FB stuff was the rear seat sidepanel, so it's possible that it's faded at a different rate to the seats or something, which might be why it's not a perfect 100% match. Dunno, maybe it's just me being too picky, maybe it'll fade together in a few weeks...

So, moar progress. First thing was what turned into an epic ten-hour round trip up to Derbyshire to collect this lot...



That pretty much knackered yestersday, so only had this arfternoon once the missus took the kids out to get on with stuff. First up was replacing this...



with this...



Much better, although I think it might be a bit on the piss Oh well, the last two were as well after all Hopefully this is the last sticky plate I'll have to ever get, bit fed up with it now. Had a set of NGK plug leads to go on, which made a massive difference to how the car ran on their own. I love changes that you can actually hear/feel working



And of course, most importantly they're blue 8) After consultation with the oracle (well, Ian and Ramo anyway) I went for swapping the old 10 plugs for new 8s. Seems to run fine on them, maybe it'll even start a bit easier now. Only downside is that someone had obviously cross-threaded the front trailing plug at some point; it was a right PITA to undo it and took several attempts to get the new one in straight. Bit of an annoyance, that, I'll have to be well careful with it in future. Not sure you can really helicoil rotor housings


Also solved the problem of the top edge of one of the sideskirts standing proud from the wing, which looked appalling and was flapping around cracking the paint. Perhaps not the most elegant solution ever, but having faffed around with like eight different sticky solutions it became clear none were ever going to be man enough. Without Tiger Seal-ing the whole thing on, in which case it'd never come off again, the options were limited. It ended up involving a rivnut ...
