Thanks for all your positive comments guy's, it is hard work and slow going, but then like the rest (most) of you, I am not a trained mechanic (far from it!) and I only get weekends to work on the car. But I am pleased with ho it is going.

Ho ? what ho ?, how !
Anyway, a bit more progress.
I need to trial fit the engine and gearbox to fabricate new gearbox mounts, the T9 box mount is a little further back than the RX7 box, so I will no doubt have to fabricate new mounts.
But first I need to change the clutch plates. The Ford gearbox has a different size of input shaft and the ford splines wont mate with the RX7 clutch plates. So I have to change the clutch plates to a 7"1/4 disc with ford splines.
These are the new discs
And the twinplate cover :

Ok, so now all I need to do is use an old Ford input shaft (the best way, rather than a universal tool) to make sure that the discs are all aligned for when I fit the gearbox.
Once that's all tightened up, then on with the gearbox.
Ready for test fit.

Time for an update methinks, though I have been waiting for a milestone to make it worthwhile, but I have made some good progress, so here goes. I had a big parcel turn up from Mr Foley.

The box contained the two rear spoilers which Fintan had had made from a mould from his own FB Rally Car. Such a gent and I am so grateful to him.
Once I had fiddled around a bit with the mounting bolts I finally got the spoiler on the car:
Happy with that I took the spoiler off for painting and fitting finally later. The two small original spoiler fitting holes will get filled and painted.

That's proper old-skool rally spec right there

Very cool!
