Lucky - Tim is full of it, dont listen to him. The indicators are erased, lets all rejoice!
Codge - great idea, and doesnt involve any thinking.
All - The faster blink rate is to give the driver an indication of a bulb failure, however the US/Jap and Aus spec cars didnt have these and clearly would only blink faster in case of front or rear outage. I wonder if the flasher relay is different? Maybe simply swapping that with a different version might resolve? Perhaps someone with a workshop manual, a technical disposition and some spare time might wade in to offer up the details of why and possibly a solution....?

The flasher relay is in a pig of a place. Right up under the dash above the fuse box.

Lollers, much as I love Dave's idea of stowing the bulbs in the engine bay so the aircleaner knows when I'm indicating, I was thinking something along the lines of this
http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/LED_ ... ack_RESPAK might be a more...ahhhh...
elegant solution? Might well become essential if my rear light conversion plan works out

If it fails horribly forget you ever read this post

Mine don't flash any faster and they have been removed. They only flash faster when the front or rear ones are not connected, but then again I don't know where my car was imported from.

What's not elegant about my idea? If you mount 'em low enough It also gives you that boy racer look (where they put those gormless lights under their cars). Sorry anyone on here with that feature.
As a bonus, anyone seeing you stood turning at a junction in the night will think you've been hit by lightning..

 ....
"Turning" to the resistor Nik, It looks to me like the 25watt gubbins is to replace a 21W front or rear turn lamp with an LED. The side repeaters will be less than that, maybe 6W pea bulbs at a guess? So worth a call to the suppliers?

Mine flash pretty quickly, and all my bulbs are in place. There is a maximum speed as far as the MOT goes is there not?

The MOT used to say they had to flash between once and twice a second. Quite a broad variation, then

Mine are fine, happy to say. Which must mean... yep, she's back!

Would you like a look?
yep, still blue then

As an aside, I put that photo up on the Retro Rides
No rhyme, no reason, one picture per post thread and they deleted it

Ignorant *expletive deleted* No appreciation of art.
Would you like to see a bit more? That wasn't really very revealing, was it?

had nothing but torrential bloody downpours since I got her back, you'd hardly know it had just been repainted

  Filthy

lol, I really ought to stop teasing and just pull back a bit so you can see a bit more of the car, shouldn't I? OK

But this is kinda fun. Look, ma, no side repeaters

  Alright, alright, just a
bit further back
...maybe just a tiny bit more...
