Are you replicating the stock suspension mounts on the axle? have you looked at the competition manual for the modded longer upper links or considered doing a tri link?

just copying for now.. havent dived to deep into it.. in fact since that pic I have parked the car and rear end and havent so much as looked at it in a month... winter here...

Im trying to avoid hacking up the stock car so was planning on using all factory points... for what I do... aka drive the car itll be fine... occasional strip run, autocross and fun driving

you can drastically improve the handling over stock without going to big four link boxes in the back seat area, you can do a tri link under the floor, like the old G force one.

I always hear people bitching about the handling on the fb.... my old 12a turbo handled like on rails.... this one.. handles pretty damn good.. granted I havent pushed it on a track or anything...

but for me... I enjoy it... I will research what youre saying though for sure

parked the car for the last 2 mths or so due to winter... and being lazy I havent touched it since... so last night I decided screw it lets go play.. Ive been watching a show called Texas Metal and got my juices flowing to mods... haha

so I started back on the 8.8 rear end shortening... not bad for freehand with a grinder... tonight I hope to get some c-channel and bigger clamps to get the alignment set.. so far the sides are less than 1/16" difference.. aka about .020" or .508mm

I also hope to redo my intercooler (upgrading) and changing up the way it is all mounted etc.... also hope to get my stereo and alarm all done but not likely as my buddy is super busy (his trailblazer has sat at my place for 3mths now waiting to swap motors out...

Ill post some pics when I get home.. I have a sony HU that was sonys entry into the car market a while back.. picked it up super cheap.. has apple play etc so I can use it for navigation etc.. I have Hertz front speakers, some amps, have to find some rears yet and will either go 12" or 2 10s... my buddy who used to do the custom installs (also my painter) said he has some good 10s I can have...

custom boxes in the rear corners facing forward etc.. had a similar setup in my 7 back in Aus.. loved it..

Got the rear end welded up... I may stay late and cut out some of my brackets tonight although I cant fit till I have the car up on the lift and stock rear out.. which I dont plan on doing till it blows haha

put a hold on the rear end build for a bit while I clarify some measurements, and which way I want to go with brakes ie: fc calipers and custom brackets (grannyspeed sells a kit or make my 5letter ones to fit using custom designed brackets (me) or use ford stuff... which I need to replace due to rusted condition it all came with.. but then the ebrake wont work...

then I also need to get axle face to axle face measurements from stock axle compared to my custom rear setup... then know if my current rims will work... if they dont then I may just buy a pair of 5 bolt ones to suit and run stock ford axles... Im hoping the length overall is about an inch less, then if my thoughts are correct it will bring my current rims in nicely as they sit right out and if I lower it more it will rub... so far it doesnt where it sits...

THEN I need to finish my custom brackets for the control arms.. ie flowjet them at work.. but what Id like to do is get a half cut of a first gen and using the stock arms etc hang it on a wall/stand as a jig then be able to locate exactly where to weld to locate the rear end correctly.. then once that is done I need to make a bracket for the watts link??.... or I have to drop the rear end out of my car and I dont want to do that till it blows up or till Im ready.. Id rather not blow it up as I could sell it for a few hundo and pay for the 8.8 conversion Ive created haha
