What I've done to my car this week!
Re: What I've done to my car this week!
Engine refresh this week, well took a couple of weeks, but finished this week. New inlet gasket and water pump gasket.
New cap and rotor, leads, plugs etc and generally cleaning everything up.
Not sure what was wrong before but goes better than I've ever had it go, sounds better and now has some mid range punch to it.

Last 2 weekends I've been waking our 1979 build from a 4 year sleep. New battery, oil and fuel, she started first time. Next got her a service including replacing the coolant. Since Friday she has been up on a stand getting all new bushings, shocks, springs and other suspension components. Can't wait to see just how different the ride is going to feel!

The '79 rides much better with the new suspension components, so this weekend was dedicated to interior strip-out before it goes to auto upholster for new (back to original colours) interior.
Rear compartment stripped out
Front section and doors stripped out (drivers seat left in for ease until it gets to auto upholster
Original brown components ready to go in
Original brown door cards
Former Donor Car Components (black)

Car is at the motor trimmer this week, total interior strip down including the dash that I was unable to do. Dash is heading to a company called "the dash doctor" to be renewed.
Next step she is heading to the painter.... standby for more photos.

I've seen a few like that Dibs. Can't find any pics though. I think it's a specific gearbox? Mister Tool will know for sure.

Come to think of it, all the examples I have seen have been Aussie S1's. Here's another.

Dibs,
As @KiwiDave showed, I think it's standard for Aussie cars?? I just saw the image below on the "Shannons Insurance" Youtube channel, Shannons is a specialist insurer here with whom our car "Helen's Babe" is insured with. It shows the gear stick with quite an offset. Engine is specifically called out as 12A like mine..... are the engine mounts the same for a 12A and 13B??
