I hope you will get the car back in not so bad condition. The rotary god will send such a fucking restorer into the hell.

Thanks for letting us know Kevin, it must be very painful for you, we feel your pain. I think as you feel it's time to move on instead of beating yourself up, easy for me to say.
Be safe and all the very best

Kevin, thanks for the update and apologies for resurrecting what has clearly been a traumatic experience. Most of us rely on our own good nature to be replicated by everyone we deal with, which is fine, but just occasionally we get unlucky and don’t spot someone with a completely different moral compass....
Not sure I agree with your solicitors quote, sounds more like they realised success (certainly in relation to costs) was unlikely and managed to ‘persuade’ you to dispense with their services.
Anyway, don’t give up hope just yet. Civil law in cases like this isn’t the most robust when it comes to protecting the consumer, but the ‘ways and means’ act can be applied in creative ways.... Standby.

As the restorer is bankrupt you wouldn't might get your car back or your costs now.A lot of more important institiutions wanted money and will get them before you. Same in germany i got a document from the state court: "you have to get your money back in the next 30 years. " That criminal changed his name and adress and is just dissapeared. And it's my turn get the money back no help from the justice only a piece of paper for all the pain and investigation.

In germany the owner of the car paper is the owner of the car. Without these papers no one else can use it on the street. So let time left perhaps you get the Rx7 back without court. g-l

Kevin let's just hope there is light at the end of this tunnel .... I hate to think how much this has cost you let alone the time and heartache.

Does anyone know if the series 3 only came with diamond cut wheels?
I know the wheels on my Elford will need a bit of a refurb and they are painted, but were they painted over the original diamond cut.

As far as I know Kevin, all S3's came with the diamond cut wheels.

I looked into getting my S3 wheels, which had been painted over, refurbished by diamond cutting them again. However, after a long discussion with the techs at the refurb place, decided to go with powdercoat, closely matching the OEM silver colour as possible. It seems getting the cutter into some of the wheel areas was nigh on impossible, coupled with some surface corrosion issues, meant the results may have been disappointing. I'm happy with the result from appearance and likely durability, even though not strictly OEM.

Were all Elfords fitted with the pepperpot wheels - were these diamond cut or simply polished?
