As i indicated previously i employed the services of a solicitor to try and recover my car but circumstances have moved on and the management of the facility where my vehicle is stored, have taken back control of the restorers yard and have now padlock control.
They have advised me that I will shortly be able to get my car back and hopefully recover all the parts I have given that idiot.
I thank everyone who has been supportive with my difficulties but pointless criticism from certain parties who have no idea of the challenges have been less than helpful.
Of course I now have to find someone to take the project on. If anyone has any ideas and recommend someone who has the capability and knowledge of these cars to take it on in Essex or East London that would be great .

Maybe the guys at Essex Rotary may have a connection or two in the bodywork / restoration field.

I can also vouch for Aston at Essex Rotary, who has done a lot of work on my RX-8 over the years, including rebuilding and bridgeporting my engine in 2017

Hi All,
I thought would give you an update.
I know I have been a bit ratty but I am the only one who knows what an arsehole this guy has been and how difficult the situation is.
Nobody else has any idea. I am sure he has connections to the traveler community and has implied threats in the past.
I turned 65 in March and my sons keep reminding me it is only a car and I am too old to get into a fight.
The last thing I wrote was the sun had come out of the clouds and I was about to get my car back as the yard he was renting was going to give me the car back because of non payment of rent.
The sun quickly went behind the clouds again, as his dad passed away and he was able to pay his rent arrears from his inheritance.
The owners of the yard have washed their hands and are no longer willing to help, but they have no legal obligation to help me.
I have now gone down the legal route to force him to return my car.
My solicitor wrote to him and he has responded with a complete package of rubbish. He has suggested that the signed agreement he made in May last year when I cornered him, is a fraudulent contrived document. He is an idiot because not only are his fingerprints on the document but so is his signature which could be verified by experts.
I have on a number occasions though about giving up. Sure in retrospect I know i made bad decisions but I can only blame myself, but my resolve remains strong
I have paid my solicitor £500 so far but he is confident i will get my costs back, but i doubt I will ever recover my costs, but I just want to recover my RX7. He has until next Friday to respond.
I will let you know what happens

I am still trying to get it back. My solicitor told me because he was disputing certain things it would have to go to cour.
t I would possibly rack up costs of up to £30k trying to get it back. As the restorer is bankrupt I might get my car back but not my costs. I have halted solicitor action.
Had recent communication with him and said it was close to being finished and would send me some photos, but that was a month ago and have seen nothing despite increasingly abusive texts. He doesn't know how to speak the truth.
He has moved workshop and I don't even know where my car is.
Of course I kick myself everyday for giving it to him in the first place
I have immersed myself in my FC I bought last year to take my mind of this situation,
